I just adopted a baby guinea pig as a friend for my adult guinea pig but they do not get along. I just put them in two separate cages now but I only have one water bottle. I tried a water bowl for the adult but she spilled it over. The baby has the bottle because she can dehydrate alot faster. I go in every hour to give the adult water until I can get a bottle. Is there anyway to make a homeade bottle? I don't think even an untippable dish will work becuase she just doesn't get it. I will be making a run to the pet store in the morning but need something to get through the night. Any creative ideas McGyvers out there??? (friendly answers only please!)
i would just get a water bottle becuse alos its not rally good if the adult drinks from the water bottle aswell as the baby. If the adult has something wrong withit and you don't know it will spread it though the bottle and when the baby uses it. IT will get the same thing so just go outand buy one there not expensive
just let the adult guinea pig drink from the water bottle untill she stops then take it out and put it back in the babys cage and she will be good till morning
Get a regular plastic cup, and tape it or twist- tie it to the outside of the cage (right- side- up).
Poke a tiny hole in the bottom of the cup.
Get a bendy straw and put the bent part in the hole, with it leading to the cage.
Put a regular, clean sponge in the straw (cut it to fit inside). Make sure the sponge is at the tip of the straw and is really squeezed in there. Put some water in it, and see if it works for your pig!
* EDIT *
When I say plastic cup, I mean the disposable kind.
GOOD LUCK!
you could try a plastic cup.or a taps from a container.anything small that you know it could reach and it could hold water will work.make sure you clean it do even do you think its clean never could make sure.
