So Im gonna go start lookin at florist for wedding flowers. I have absolutely now ideas about pricing and i dont want to get screwed i dont want to spend alot and if it comes down to it i will probably just end up doing everything myself except for my bouquets and his boutonniere. Anyways what would you say the average person spends on flowers for a wedding with 150 guests? whats good pricing for centerpieces... not over the top just simple but elegant, whats good pricing for bridesmaid flowers and groomsmen boutonnieres? Any advice is appreciated esp. from any florists.
Go see several florists. They will show you books of what they can do for you and the prices. You can ask what they can do for less. There are lots of ways of cutting corners and still have reasonably priced wedding flowers. They will work with you because they want to make the sale. Go with who you feel understands what you are talking about and takes the time to show you different flowers.
Most important!!!! Get it in writing. The sizes, the number of flowers, the colors, the number of arrangements, when they will be delivered. The total delivered price. If you use larger flowers, you will need fewer flowers for the same size arrangement.
If you use more greens the arrangements will be bigger and look more expensive.
You can do them yourself with silk flowers. There are plenty of books that show you exactly where to place each flower. They can be done way ahead of time. The silk flowers now, look gorgeous.
