There is no maximum age to get tattooed, as long as you are healthy enough and take care of the ink according to instructions.
In general the least painful places are the upper outer arm (bicep), the front of the thigh, the calf, and the chest (depending on the person). Since pain depends on 2 main factors, proximity to bone and density of nerve endings, you want to go for areas that are more padded but less sensitive. For example, the buttocks are well padded but quite painful as there are many nerve endings there. The best thing you can do is to find an artist you trust, whose style you like, and schedule a consultation with that person. Consults are always free, and you can get all of your age, health, and pain questions (as well as design questions) answered much more directly and accurately.
Best of luck to you!
There's no maximum age limit. My artist also does cosmetic tattooing and had a 95 yr old woman come in to get her eyebrows done.

I would say proly the least hurting is like maybe the legs, and back,
I've never heard of a maximum age as far as "legally" or anything like that, but recommended...one of the artists that I've gone to says that she doesn't like to tattoo anyone over 50-55. Mainly because of the changes that occur in your skin, less collagen and stuff. I highly doubt older people are more prone to infection from a tattoo. As long as you keep your tattoo clean you should be fine at any age. Decay - RSS Archive:: You Read It Here First Urban Decay 2008 Fall Collection .. favorite celebrity tattoo artist, Ami James! ACTUALLY, In the USA you need to be 18 years old to LEGALLY get a tattoo. Some poeple will give one if you are younger but that is hard to come by. As for the best placto get one, where do yo want to get it??? They really dont hurt as much as people make them out to. They are more aggravating then anything, nothing insanley bad though. I have one on my lower back, ankle, back of the neck, pelvis, and foot... the one that hurt the most was my ankle, and that was bareable, it didnt even bother me that much. It olny hurts for a second anyways, like you will be like "owe, that hurt, but it doesnt any more" a few times throughout the process
you can be young and get one as long as you have an adult with you to sign for you that you approve.
Least painful place is somewhere where there is least bone, i.e.: stomach or side of stomach above hip. but i think thats ugly when people get it there.
It depends the size of the tattoo too.
My tattoo is on my lower back but its pretty small so it hurt really bad but only for about 20-25 mins.
good luck!! =)
Actually, any age above the age of 15 can get one, there is no maximum, I knew someone who had gotten one at 14 but his parents had to give consent and be there. Plus, I have seen people of older age getting tattoos all the time on tattoo shows like Miami Ink, etc.
