I am thinking of getting another cat, a kitten to be exact. My other cat is starting to lose its playful steam and I think a young kitten who is very playful may reactivate it.
Actually, a young kitten would most likely annoy your older cat. A far better choice would be an ADULT shelter cat. I have three of them - all adopted when they were between 2 1/2 to 4 years - and they're the most loving, playful, sweet cats I've ever known. They also readily accepted eachother and other pets.

and they suggested staying away from "mom and pop" type names. I personally think he probably played the "fat cat" routine and spent everything as fast
