i see you got your answers- pathetic isn't it? and taxed too.they even pay for their meals
unless your husband has a life long dream to serve? think it over again
BAH is based on rank, duty station zip code (except in basic then it's your home of record zip code) and with or without dependents.
http://www.military.com/benefits/militar...
Base pay is based on rank and time in service. An E1 with less than 2 years in will make $1347.00 per month.
BAS is a set amount given based on Enlisted or Officer. Enlisted gets $294.43 a month and an Officers gets $202.76 a month
Pay is done on the 1st and 15th of every month. Your base pay, BAH and BAS are totaled together and split in two after taxes, allotments and any other deductions are taken out. FYI for those who don't know... As of March 1, 2009 DIMHRS will go into effect for the Army. Being paid once a month will no longer be an option under that system Being paid twice a month (1 &15) will be mandatory.
It can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to get your first pay.
My boyfriend is in ait and since he has been gone the Army has been paying for his rent. Is the lease in his name? If yes then he should get extra for rent im living rent free since August. Good luck and congrats it will go bye so fast especially with a new born baby!!! Im hear if you have any questions or need to talk...
First, you need to go with your husband and talk to that recruiter. It is his job to explain all of this to you, and he should be more than happy to do so.
Base pay for an E-1 is $1,245.90 for the first 4 months, then it goes up to $1,347. At six months he should be automatically promoted to E-2 with a pay rate of $1,509.90. These amounts will all go up by 3-4% in January, due to our annual cost of living pay increase.
If your husband can buckle down and study, he may be able to get promoted to E-2 before Basic Training, but it is kind of short notice with just a week left.
As far as BAH goes, you will receive that while he is in training. It is based upon the zip code where you live. The link to look it up is http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem...
As long as you are renting a modest apartment or house, the BAH should cover at least 90% of your rent and utilities.
Your husband will be paid (base pay and BAH) by direct deposit to his account (get a joint account so you can access the money) either once a month, on the first; or twice a month, on the first and 15th. Twice a month is much more common.
Good Luck, and make that recruiter work for you.
ok...not to scare you or anything but...my husband left on Sept 24th to go to Fort Benning, today is October 17th and we havent received any pay yet...the recruiter told him he would be paid on Oct 1st, when that wasnt received I called him and he said then it will definitly be there on Oct 15th...well it still isnt there...so just be sure to have enough money to go without a paycheck being received for 4-6 weeks...he will receive about $1200 before taxes...however they do not hold out taxes on his BAH and that will be split up in the two paychecks...good luck and hope your baby is healthy...
i believe its about 1200 a month
