Ok, so my best friend and I went out to this party together. I ended up meeting this awesome girl and we were really hitting it off. I introduced her to my buddy and for the rest of the night he was practically in between us! Long story short, I am taking her on a date Saturday, but he keeps texting her (like 80 times since Friday...no joke) and he's creeping her out.

I'm worried that he is going to ruin things with me and her and I really like this girl. I don't get why he is doing this, we have been best friends since we were 15 and this isn't like him at all. you need to get the girl to tell your friend that she is not interested. if that fails then you need to try to hook him up with someone else. if that fails you need to confront him and if he gets mad it is out of jealousy. if he truly is your best bud he should get over it and stay cool with you with no hard feelings.
Yeah, a girl did this very thing to me - TWICE. Dropped her as a so-called friend...glad I did...she's still "at it" years later...boy, I was lucky to find out her character tested as I did...I really was.
I think this is one of two things: he's jealous of your interest in her and is competing with you OR, this is one weird side of your pal you've never seen. May be its a coincidence? Maybe not...you'd know if it occurred again - and you may even know sooner if he CONTINUES to act like an asshol* on this matter. Very strange...certain boundaries you don't cross - he has...it truly sounds like she's really wondering about him, and naturally, you don't want that to infect your new relationship with her.
Advice: Don't share much about your with him, few words are the best here. He'll get the message. Don't give him any ammunition for possibly acting on some little detail to screw things up. If it doesn't work out with this girl, so be it. -But if it happened again, you'd be mighty concerned, wouldn't you? That his behavior is simply not normal.

First, The only one who should of got her # is you. How'd he get it.Tell your friend he's creeping her out by too much contact.Do realize he won't matter much if she really likes you.
Just tell him straight up how you feel about it. Does he know that you really dig this chick? Maybe he feels that he will lose hand out time with you. I would explain to her that you have nothing to do with it as well. If not then she will probably think your just as immature and creepy as he is.
