I bought a hot tub that was on 4-wire and changed it to 3-wire, but now everything works but the heating element. I suspect the extra line in the 4-wire was driving something. Is there a way I can convert the wiring within the hot tub???
check if you have power at the heater. 220 is just 2 alternating 110/115 vlt hots a neutral/common and usually a ground (same as neutral in the main panel) the ground is especially important around water. it sounds like the hot lead to the heater is not connected somewhere. Why did you change? Is this a cord that plugs into an outlet? Residential 220V as of 1996 is 4 wire. There should be two hot one neutral and a ground. And it is possible that you left one of the hots out. That would explain your problem like the other answer said. Pumps are probably 120V but the heating element would only produce half the heat.
