cats cant get stuck in trees. they get up there easily enough they can climb down, thats what their claws are for and they are able to jump from heights easily thats where the saying, "cats always land on their feet" comes from...

Throw small dogs at it, (or something small and soft.) Put some tuna in the lower branches of the tree, or on the ground. Cats don't get stuck in trees. If they get up in a tree, they can get down.
