Since I do dog rescue, that would be hard to say. I personally have a German Short hair Pointer but I have lived with Pommies, Poodles, Bichons, and cats. No one is better than the other. You have to do your own homework to see what breed is best for you. As for me, rescue does not afford me that luxury. I make do with what I have.

American Pit Bull Terrier
Most of the working breeds, large and some medium dogs...I love pit bulls, dobermans, rottweilers, GSD's, huskies, malamutes, border collies, etc..you get the idea... I have had all of the above. currently a beautiful female pit with an amazing brindle coat... I will always have most of my heart and soul with wolves, though. They are definately not for everyone, you literally give up your life for them, but well worth it. I raised them for years and nothing compares.

In India we have the most pathetic looking street dogs..........i look at their increasing numbers and like their very friendlyhabits on the beach one stray comes and sits by our side

Well you know there are alot of breeds.
My three top favorites is one pembroke welsh corgi,german sheperds,and chihuahuas. They are so cute!!!!
