"something goes wrong?" Please explain EXACTLY what that means. "copy or scan"??? We can't tell, based on what you told us, the terms mean different things in "Computer-Speak".
TIP: You "Scan" printed photos. You "Copy" computer files.
They didn't do anything to the photos, if they're prints. You have to read the Scanner's User Manual to learn how to use your scanner.
If they came on a CD, they may or may not be "locked".
So, take the CD to a photo processing store and they will be able to tell you WHY they can't be copied.
