Like, saying:
To save the 'world' they live in, from a financial crisis.
Are they helping their party workers to mop it up in case they don't win?
Reason is very simple, take for example in India generally any political parties, out of Five year term their progress in manifesto assurance take slow growth, only when elections are fast approaching, they take so many welfare measure spend abundantly from exchequers. I need not mention here that it is intended to amass funds for upcoming election. From this we need not give any exception to any political parties.
It is a dual advantage that the ruling party in the Government is deriving
from such a move.As you say,it helps loyal party workers mop it up
(irrespective of whether it wins or not).It also acts as an incentive or a
bribe to the voters to cast their votes in favor of the ruling party.Such action is violative of the election code of conduct and should not only be condemned but the party engaging in such acts should be disqualified from contesting.
