OK the BEST JERSEY that you can get is CIccio esposito. To me he is one of the brightest futures and he is extremely Versatile. You can put him on mid and striker. He is absolutely the best thing that Italy has coming to me.

To be honest, do you think you're going to be wearing a jersey for more than 2-3 years? I would just pick your favorite player and have it at that. If I was to buy a jersey again I would most definitely have gotten Nesta or Zambrotta.
Oddly enough i have three ITALY Nt jerseys, two of which have a player's name.

I made the mistake of getting a Cassano NT jersey (before he lost it). While on some levels I feel like an idiot wearing it, I'm hoping he will bounce back. Gilardino, Pirlo, and De Rossi are younger players who will probably shine for a while.

Oh and a final thing, as a potential warning. You might want to make sure that the place you buy it from has the proper lettering. I bought it online and got Cassano, but it came with white lettering. The white lettering looks decent but it's not really as authentic or realistic as the standard gold. Kitbag and some other sites sell hero jerseys with the gold lettered names, I would get those to be sure.

I didn't mean you just throw away the jersey, but most likely will replace it with a new one. Like yourself, I have a Kappa Nesta jersey my Mom got for me when she was in Italy. Not a big fan of the tight fit though. The 2005 Puma jersey is probably the best I've owned yet. It has a good design, good fit, and is very comfortable to wear.
Also, all the people you highlighted are very good choices. The only Italy jerseys I've seen on other people are Totti and Del Piero. Also, a Buffon jersey would be freaking awesome, the dark blue especially. :D
All this talk aside, to the original poster: you will be happy with any name you choose. :D The new jersey is probably the best yet.

If you want a young player i would suggest Cassano (if he just wakes up he will be one hell of a soccer player).
If you want notiriaty i would suggest Totti, Zambrotta, Nesta, or Cannavaro these some of the best players in the game.

He wore #8 in the recent qualifiers. There's no guarantee he'll keep that number forever.
