Why are people fixated with Sarah Palin's inexperience when Barack Obama has less experienced?

People are comparing a Vice President Candidate with a Presidential candidate. One will hold the highest position in the US and the other will in the passenger seat. Yes, the VP might become President one day, but to have a President learning everything on the job. Come on, lets get real here. Talking about another Bush/Chaney term, Obama/Biden is more of the same, but they are selling it differently.

Okay, let's compare him to John McCain, who claims to know everything and refuses to learn anything, especially from his or other Republicans' mistakes. As far as I can see, McCain has been reduced to claiming he knows how to fix everything, but giving no specifics whatever. (He did that repeatedly in the last debate.)

Overall, I am not convinced that experience teaches much except how to repeat mistakes. For example, Republicans always (since Nixon) claim that tax cuts pay for themselves. Their excuse is that there was, in fact, one tax cut that did so, in the early 1960s. If that claim were valid for all tax cuts, the national debt "clock" would not have run out of display digits recently. Yet McCain is still trying to buy votes with more tax cuts, of exactly the type that sent the national debt through half a dozen ceilings.

Senator Obama has at least displayed a grasp of why that hasn't worked. That puts him far ahead of both the Republican running mates, and of the present President and Vice President, in terms of capacity to do the job.

i agree they should not be compared, but the fact is Sarah Palin has no idea about the national issues or how to resolve them. Obama has given many detailed answers on how to work on some of the issues facing this nation.

If he does have less experience, it doesn't show. However Sarah Palin is just a jacka**. She doesn't know when or what to say. She has helped to bring the McInsane campaign down.

State Senator for 7 years

He's at the very least smart enough to do the job (something we can't say about ol' dubya). Throughout this campaign alone he's shown better judgment and poise than Clinton, McCain, and Palin. You may not agree with his vision of America but you cannot doubt the man's qualifications. Remember no presidential candidate or any other candidate for any other job is ever fully qualified to do a job they've never done. And as far as comparing Palin to Obama, Republicans chose to make this ludicrous contrast claiming her experience as govenor of a state with no people (683,000 if you're counting) and no real budget makes her more qualified than all other candidates including McCain!!! Let her finish an interview without stumbling first and then I may consider thought of letting her represent me around the world.

I'm much more concerned with Palin's lack of intelligence than I am her lack of experience.

Every president learns how to be president on the job. I prefer to have a president that has to learn less. Instead of one that thinks that being able to see Russia from your state qualifies as foreign policy experience. If that's the case then I should know all there is to know about Canada. Wake up people!

I think they see it as the only rebuttal to accusations that Obama is not qualified to be president because of his lack of experience. I am not sure why they think it's a good argument though. I've actually seen and heard people defending Obama's lack of experience, saying that he has been talking to many foreign officials over the last 1.5 years which is basically saying that running for president is qualification enough to BE president.

The people that say Palin has less experience - ok that may be true. However, her experience is at least executive. Also, if she were to become president it would be after serving as Vice President which is much better training to be president than running for office.

They are desperate, because neither Obama or Biden have any executive experience. Palin has the most and McCain has commanded troops, but neither Ducky (Draft Dodger) Biden or The Messiah ever have risked their lives for our country or had executive experience. They are saying that his experience is more applicable. I agree with you though, they are just not able to compare Obama's experience with McCains so they are calling out Palin - they are reaching for the voters that are dumb enough to get Palin and McCain confussed on positions!

Because at least Obama is very well educated on the issues and he can put a complete sentence together.
