I know humourous satires are only a particular type of satire, but I would like to know for future essays why they try to generally be funny. The only point I can think of at the moment is that they are less offensive, and thus more widely accepted and thought about (more effective in changing opinions/attitudes). But why else are satires funny?
Thanks in advance. 10 points for best answer!
i believe that we find satire funny because we sort of enjoy the misfortunes of others. I think that we enjoy irony because we know that it could happen to us also at any time, we just laugh to shelter ourselves.
