I have seen a lot of ppl (who dont represent anyone but themselves, and dont attend rallies) say they resent the wars that the US has undertaken, and oppose any more possible invasions (Iran/Iraq), but are too cowardly to come out in public; to voice their opposition clearly. Why is this?
Why do I feel that it is an odd bunch of ppl that actually wants true change? If so many ppl resented our war in Iraq, we should have listened to Ron Paul and had him elected as our President. But the poor guy got no support for speaking the glaring truth, and instead was handpicked as a troublemaker; and was disrespected. Please dont take this question personally (you all might not be cowards), but I feel most American ppl still have NO idea what they want, or whats good for the country. They think Iraq was a failure, so bring the troops back home and attack Afghanistan and Pakistan. Why do we need any more wars? Why cant we spend our hefty military budget on the failing infrastructure of our country, and the economy? 2. i don't think anyone appreciates being called a coward
3. if anyone speaks their views or starts something that could be good for the country, people on the top level will rip them down becuz they didn't think of that idea first.
4. what do you think would happen if barack obama or bill clinton, or some other huge political figure saw your question?
because we have gotten didiculous with our non prejudices. You can make a smoker stan doutside of restaurants and bars but we can't be prejudice against any nationality, child moesters, gays, etc..There are a few of us who do till stand up for what we believe in but we get called bigots and can be sued for discrimination. Many people have their prejudices we are not allowed to express them.free country huh.
Most people are against the government but are afraid of losing everything. They're afraid of losing their comfy lives (jobs, houses, cars, etc.). They don't want to end up living on the streets. It's only when you have nothing to live for, that you can stand up for what you believe in.
No one wants to be the first one and stand up and shout "No more!". They're mostly afraid of consequences.
Its called peer pressure no wait social pressure, in America this is very high because everyone has something that brings him/her down the social scale, they tend to not do anything to drop them even lower.
I am assuming that you think your way of thinking is the only way....It's not, maybe they and I just don't agree with you.
Americans have faced opposition from several countries for years, ironically allot of these countries need our help, and we have helped them, I do think the war in Iraq was not the smartest move we made but i do understand the thought behind it
