Sabbath day is the holy day.The last day of the week. The day God rested is on saturday. One of the commandments says we have to observe the sabbath day and keep it holy.
because your to rest on the sabbath...and Going to church and preaching on that day is all work not rest..God bless
They're protesting football.
You are assuming that All Christians go to church on Sunday and that All Christians go to church. There are Saturday masses for those who do attend church. I myself do not go to church. I do follow Gods words and I do live my life accordingly. My relationship with God is between me and him. God said come together not form hundreds of different religions.
The Sabbath is the day of rest. You can worship any and every day of the week.
If the first of the week be holy(grace), the whole week be holy.
If the first of the week is lawed(leavened), it leavens the whole.
So, we have a last day (seventh day) shewdown:
- the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light: Amos 5
- the day of God is light having no darkness at all: 1John 1
Pick one only, not both is an oxyMORON with BAD ending
Hint:
God saw only good x7, not good + evil, in Genesis 1.
No mention of even-ing and mourn-ing on the 7th day.
Hint: Amos 5:18-20
If the day of the LORD is darkness, to what end is it to you? "What Day is the Lord's Day": GoArticles.com:: If any who read this article attend a Sunday Church, please ask your Pastor or Priest which day is the real Sabbath Day of the God of the Bible. http://www.goarticles.com/cgi-bin/showa.cgi?C=352591HOME |
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
They have to get their sin on Saturdays and ask for forgiveness on Sunday. The other way around would make them feel really guilty.
Who knows...
I take it you're a seventh day adventist. :) But still, didn't Paul release of from that? :)
We are not keeping the sabbath... it is the Lords day.
I always thought that was odd, why did it chnage?
We don't have to get very fancy to answer this question. In line with the tradition which we read in the gospels, Jesus rose on Sunday. Once the church's mission became focused upon looking outward to the gentiles after most of the Jews within Israel rejected the Christian message, there was no longer any "hook" which necessitated us to keep the JEWISH sabbath-day. And since the resurrection of the Lord was discovered on the FIRST day of the week, the CHRISTIAN sabbath naturally moved to Sunday.
Don't make the mistake of reading your bible with such a stiff, wooden, inflexible (fundamentalist?) approach.

Because it is clear that Christians in the first century worshipped on Sunday.
Acts 20:7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.
The Sabbath was not a day of worship, it was a day of rest (the meaning of the word) and reflection. In Hebrews 4, we are told that its purpose was to foreshadow the eternal rest of heaven.
After serious contemplation and consideration of the hundreds of feeble minded people with no life whatsoever who have posted the same silly rant thinly disguised as a question, I can confidently offer this answer:
We go to church on Sunday to avoid obnoxious bozos who tend to go on Saturdays.
what does it matter when you go or even if you go... do not look to men or their actions when you seek the truth... keep your eyes focused on your Father who art in Heaven...
The sabbath is no longer about a day of the week!
" ... one day is with the Lord as a thousand years..." 2 Peter 3:8
In the year 2000 we entered the 7th day; the beginning of the 7th thousandth year since the fall of the first Adam.
And how do we keep this day holy?
By purifying our hearts!
The Lone Ranger and Tonto are camping in the desert, set up their tent, and are asleep. Some hours later, The Lone Ranger wakes his faithful friend.
"Tonto, look up and tell me what you see."
Tonto replies, "Me see millions of stars."
"What does that tell you?" asks The Lone Ranger.
Tonto ponders for a minute.
"Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.
Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three.
Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant.
Meteorologic-ally, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
What it tell you, Kemo Sabi?"
The Lone Ranger is silent for a moment, then speaks.
"Tonto, you Dummy, someone has stolen our tent."
As long as you observe and set a day aside for God is the main point.
Or as the joke above suggest are we missing the obvious?
because sunday is boring
Who cares which day it is.
It does not really affect anything?
Because, early Christians were persecuted for following the old Jewish ways. The Emperor insisted for himself to be worshipped on the 1st day of the week. The Roman Catholic Church has supported this for all of these years. But, Sunday-keeping Christianity is FAR from the only sin running rampant in the world.
Good Question. I believe it was done that way to make the Pagans who worshiped the sun god happy. Almost all the main stream doctrines incorporate lies or pagan traditions into their sermons. Take Christmas for instance.
What is observing the sabbath? And how do you keep it holy?
going to church on sundays was unknown in the 1st century, not until the late 2nd century up to the 3rd century when the catholic church began was the Sabbath replaced by sunday by decree of Caesar, the 1st pope of rome.
Sabbath is a day of rest. Going to church on sunday is not a biblical practice.
They don't believe in the Ten Commandments-- they claim they were nailed to the cross.........Of course GOD NEVER CHANGED HIS LAW--man did
Christ Crucifixion only did away with the ceremonial laws--NOT GODS LAW
personally I go Sat..........
Jesus fulfilled the old testament law. He rose from the dead on Sunday. The early Christians met on the 1st day of the week.
lool i go to church fridays... and sundays =)
Technically there is no such thing as a "holy" day... Religion has always taught the oneness of God and has brought different ways of expression which vary from religion to religion.
