Why do God do things when He already knows the outcome?
Published by: anonym 2009-01-09
  • The question of why God does things when He already knows the outcome is one that can be asked about numerous situations. Why did God create Satan knowing he would rebel? Why did God tell Adam and Eve not to eat of the Tree knowing they would disobey? Why did God create angels knowing that many of them would turn against Him?
Why did God command Abraham to sacrifice Isaac when he knew the outcome?

  • Why do parents put cookies in a cookie jar and then be angry when their kids take them, when they already know kids will be disobedient? Simple analogy, but I hope you get my point.

  • Already every humans fate is decided by Him. Accordingly for good and for bad, a lesson is taught to understand others through certain acts.

  • He no do things. There just story of doing things.

  • Well one thing I know (take it or leave it) it says clearly in the bible that many things God does we'll never understand. That being said alot of what went on in the bible had more to do with testing people, God gave man free will and a choice what to do.. without that he could just force everyone to love him and it would be meaningless. It doesn't say (anywhere that I've read) that he has the future planned out.. he gave Adam and Eve a choice.. otherwise it would be pointless. Just know that the christian religion is one of faith.. just like athiesm, or any other.. if God didn't give us any room for doubt, there would be no faith, everyone would just do what would be proven. I consider myself an intelligent person and have a pretty high IQ but I don't have nearly the ego to think that I'm smarter than God.

Curiosity would be one of these, as he already knows the outcome, since He . Just remember that people who believe in God do not believe in a God that is

  • Based on the presumption that God exists, the only possible explanation is that he's a very bad creator and he's not exactly omnipotent.

  • How can you actually believe every word of a book of stories that have been changed over the centuries to meet the views of individual writers, that can be interpreted in different ways?
The Bible cannot be taken literally!

  • why do you eat dinner, when you know you will not be hungry after wards?
why do you sometime turn on a flashlight when there is already enough light

  • How about the ULTIMATE question of free will:

Why does God call it a reward that when you die, you go to heaven where evil is removed. Hence, you no longer have the ability to choose right or wrong. You are from that point on... a robot.

Nov 3, 2008 Yet we are told that God already knows what we need before we ask. So, bada bing bada bang. Just do it. If he knows the answer to a prayer

  • Why do you ask this question when you've heard the answer several times over? We are not robots. We have free will/choice to use as we see fit. If God hadn't given us this, then you or I would not be here right now. Because He would not created Lucifer (turned satan) who could not have tempted Adam and Eve (who CHOSE TO believe satan) who and disobeyed.

In the situation with Abraham, as with all situtations, WE not God, have to decide where our loyality lies.

God knows everything yes. But He only interferes with what we ask Him to.

  • The entire universe is based on agency. We all choose.

In my understanding, God explained quite a bit to Adam and Eve about how this mortal world was going to work . . . and then they had to choose whether or not to take the fruit and enter the world.

I do not believe God created Satan, or the evilness of Satan, rather. Satan chose and he fell. Same with any other fallen angel or person.

Abraham was changed by his experience; Isaac as well. They both learned by a tangible experience more about the Messiah and the promised atonement. This story is actually a more difficult one for me, I think I shall study it more.

  • You can not have a testimony with out a test.

  • Simply because He wanted to even though He knew the outcome.

  • Well, I don't think he exists personally.
But I'd say he's just a devious bastard and likes creating havoc, and watching you squirm.
