Why do many (NOT ALL) young black women go for thugs?

I think most young girls, in general, go for the bad boy types. In the burbs, they are doing the same thing. The "thugs" in the burbs might be more docile than those in the urban ghettos, but they still smoke weed, drink and have sex like everyone else. If a young girl does not have the positive male role models in her life, she will go astray. And the same thing will happen if a mother does not teach her daughter about respecting herself.

This is happening everywhere.

It could be the geographic surroundings, media, and BET. Also not having an appropriate male father figure could result in poor choices in relationships.

The Thugs is not why we have all the single black mothers. It is the social condition that they live in. In order for things to change you need to change that.

It is the fleeting glamour and controversy of it all. In my father's time in the 20's and 30's such women were well known and called gun molls.
They felt empowered and up on a pedestal being protected by their gangster boyfriends. All in all an ego trip after rising from the ashes.

Everything is reversed. The good guy is thought to be the villian(more appropriate:underdog, antagonist), and the bad guy is thought to be the hero.

That being said, the thug image in our current media, is being portrayed as something "cool". Everyone flocks to something or someone that is "cool". Also thugs are considered tough and aggressive and SOME girls feel they are more protected by one. Not to mention they are considered "cool". That's all I feel like explaining. I might have missed some things though.

we have all these single mothers because girls will not keep their damn legs closed.... or at least learn how to use birth control... you can say that it's the men too but fact is they don't have to carry the baby, and they can easily run off if they want to
