GAO-07-1195, Securing, Stabilizing, and Rebuilding Iraq: Iraqi :: Why GAO Did This Study: Public Law 110-28 requires GAO to report to Congress by is approved, the Iraqi people will need to vote on the amendments in a http://www.gao.gov/htext/d071195.htmlHOME | Most of the people whom I spoke to are voting because the candidate is either Democrat or Republican.I want to see people say they are voting for a candidate because he or she will do the better job .They had outlined what that candidate has proposed , but how do they know that it will be implemented. Most people have a busy life and cant get to go to Washington to find out what their Congress is doing. You cant really trust the news because it will always to bias or most sources that are available
Since when do the words 'rationale' and 'voting' belong in the same sentence. You are a silly, what a question. LOL
Don't know whether to say this is a good question, or an obvious observation ~~ did you really think elections were determined by intelligent thought ? If you vote for an independent who has no chance of winning, then you hurt the chance of your next-favorite candidate.
Hypothetical: Suppose you were an ultra-conservative who hated Obama. Your favorite candidate is an independent, and McCain is your second choice. If you vote for the indy, that's one vote that didn't go to McCain. Even though you voted with your heart/brain/gut, you ultimately helped Obama, which is probably the opposite of what you had hoped to do.
My grandmother always said ...."do what you can do....because that's all you can do".
I vote for the person who I think would make the best President and that's about all I can do.
I consider myself a Democrat because so far I always agree and like what the Democratic candidate has to say. Same this year. Democrats care about the ''little'' guy. Republicans care about the rich and how to get richer. They use issues that will attract the religious right because it works for them. I hate it when the Republicans bring up past voting records. And they always bring it up first. Here is why I hate it.........Because a lot if not most people do not understand that when a bill goes to a vote it has several issues tacted onto it or included in it. So the person voting has to look at every issue included in that bill. If the person voting wants one part of the bill to pass but does not agree with another part or parts then they are forced to vote against it. Candidates who use this propaganda know this (of course) and they know that the average voter does not realize this. It is sleezy and deceptive. I have never watched a debate where the Democratic candidate was the first to bring up such a point. The Republican candidate throws these things out and then the Democrat tries to explain.
I vote for the ones I think will do the least harm. The sad thing is after they get elected they mostly start working on how to get re-elected
WELL.... LETS SEE NOW....
I usually make my decision(s) by simply checking the
candidate's past voting record in the house or senate.
This provides a pretty fool-proof look into their personal
beliefs and character.
If they aren't a member of those two bodies of our
government, I check their past performance in whatever
office(s) they have held.
If they have never held an elected office.... I usually just
resort to the "coin-flipping" thang !!!
This election year seems to be one of the uninformed voter. The candidates have their methods of garnering votes down to a science. It seems anything goes. Lies, false promises, the MSM omitting pertinent information and integrity no longer seems to matter to many voters.
Dam good q! Most voters[like myself] are quite confused about the candidates because the media and the politicians themselves have so polluted the system, and the spin doctors have perverted the info that IS available, that it's just a jumbled up mess and all the promises made will not be fulfilled simply because Congress won't let it happen! As president, he only has the power congress allows him.
