It seems to me that North Americans do not get upset by immigrants from Ireland or Asian countries who come here without documents, but do not accept those from Latin America. Why is that? Is it just racism? Will a wall really be built on the border of the USA and mexico? Thanks for your comments and answers.
RACISM will always be here i dont care what anyone says. Yeah illegal immigrants come here illegally DUH!!! We leave them no other choice. In mexico there is a lot of poverty and we all know that, so just put yourselves in their shoes...stay in mexico and make $2 a day or take a chance in crossing the border for a better life for yourself and your family? Lets not forget theyre HUMAN, the fact that they were born hundreds of miles away shouldnt keep them out. Anyone will do what they have to to survive, even if they have to face discrimination in their every day life. Its not fair that humans could still be illegal right now. perhaps it has to do with the tens of millions of people crossing the southern border whenever they want, destroying everything in their path and then watching these people protest in OUR streets and our government do nothing! ALL illegals should be deported, but when tens of millions are here illegally from latin counties, you do the math!!
Good lord. For me, it has nothing to do with a person's skin color, but everything to do with the complete lack of respect for our laws, our citizens, and our country from the top to the bottom. Illegals from latin countries have no right to invade this country and our government has no right to allow it to happen, while at the same time, NO illegal, from any country, should be allowed to invade our nation as with the current influx of unwanted!
It has nothing to do with racism or any other ism. The problem is, people who were born here have to work, pay taxes, pay medical, pay for school, and pay for everything they have to live a decent life. Fine, that's the way the world works.
Immigrants from Europe or other countries have to jump through a lot of hoops to even get to stay here such as a seven year waiting period and citizenship tests.
The resentment comes when illegals come here, break our laws, but get a free ride of little to no cost schooling, medical, and government hand outs. Some illegals have been known to cruise around a hospital waiting for the contractions to start. Then they pull into the emergency bay of a hospital and get free medical and infant delivery. One hospital was so overwhelmed with this practice it closed permanently. It could no longer afford to give this kind of free medical care.
An Irishman or Asian is not likely to cause trouble. They're here for the American dream of being successful. Others are from Middle Eastern countries that are most likely, because of history or actions, to cause trouble. Sometimes they come through the porous borders of the US and Canada, or US and Mexico.

Recently some illegals from Mexico murdered the owner of the bar they went to, some illegals are stealing peoples ID's, some are making fake driver's licenses off someone else's back. Some can't drive well at all and are causing accidents in greater numbers.
The resentment comes from the fact that our government does little to stop this, then they turn around and give amnesty and benefits to people that are not qualified under a normal system to get them. It isn't right.
We resent the illegal immigrants no matter where they come from. The legal immigrants are welcome no matter where they come from.

Hispanics are the only ones who come here then have the audacity to say that this is their land. ( If it was, they wouldn't have COME here, they would have already been here) Hispanics are the only group of people that breed like rabbits and think that one day they will be able to take over. There are over 155 languages spoken in the U.S but for some reason Hispanics are the only ones not willing to assimilate. That is why we have to spend millions on extra printing to accommodate them. You left out the most important word when you talked about immigrants. The word is ILLEGAL. Here in the United States, we LOVE all legal immigrants as we know how truly hard it is to immigrate here legally. When someone comes here illegally, that makes all of their kind look like illegals.
Another reason other than already mentioned is that out of 12 millions of illegals in U.S. 90% + are Latinos/Mexicans.Those illegals from Asiatic countries are in much smaller numbers, and country could absorb them without causing noticeable difference to U.S. society. And they try to blend into the system not to "colonize" U.S. and turn it into North Mexico. But LatinoMexican illegals are overwhelming the whole country and are lot more likely to use welfare health & education system benefits that are intended for U.S. citizens only, than Asiatic or European illegals are.
Anyone that comes here without the proper papers is not welcome. There is a larger proportion of Latin Americans vs Asian or European. One assumes that if they have crossed the ocean they had to have some kind of papers to get here, whether it was a travel visa or something. Let me make it clear. Illegals of any ethnicity, color, creed, religion, race ......NOT WELCOME! Follow the law and get in line like the rest of us and our families did.

And mexicans/Cubans are flooding this place over populating it with people who send all their money to mexico, not only that they don't pay taxes. The only people it benefits are rich white guy's who own construction businesses or a possible manufacturing company that should hire americans and pay a little more to get them. Some of these Mexicans/South Americans commit crimes and then go back to their country. A lot of them drive without insurance and hit people forcing them to pay for their own damage. The list goes on. I don't hate them i just want them documented and i want americans to have jobs 1st. And i don't want to pay for their medical when a illegal decides to have a baby.

I have never seen a million illegal Lithuanians marching in LA holding a Lithuanian flag shouting we are here we want your rights... That may have a lot to do with it... That plus the fact that Latinos make up 90% of the immigrants coming and add to that 2.6 out of 5 are illegally here. This is a Mexican government figure. So realistically about 51% of Hispanics or Latinos you see are in fact illegally in this country. At some point they will have to realize that they will not be looked at a good way til they start obeying immigration laws....
Not all North Americans resent them. But most agree that if you are going to move to America, you should do it legally. While, yes, there are some people that are racist and don't put any thought into it, the problem is that there aren't enough jobs for all the people LEGALLY in the country, and yet, illegal immigrants get to take these jobs without having to pay our taxes.
And the reason why it's such a big deal about Latin Americans rather than immigrants from Asia and Europe is that it's much harder for someone from across an ocean to get here illegally. However, if you live in Mexico or Latin America, you don't need to get in an airplane to come here.
And yes, there is a lot of consideration for a wall to be built along the border, though it's not decided yet. We'll see.

It's not the immigrants that we object to it's the illegal aliens or illegal Immigrants if that is what you want to call them .I don't care where they are from if they if they didn't come in legally then send them home.
Have you spent any time checking statistics?, the huge majority of illegal immigrants here are from Latin America, because they can just walk across the border, others have to come here by plane or boat and are much easier to find. Second we spend hundreds of billions of dollars providing health and social services to them, and like I've stated here before I have a family member in the health care field and is aware of 4 hospitals that have closed in recent years because they were bankrupted by having to provide those services to a large illegal immigrant population with no hope of ever getting paid for it, I'll repeat that, 4 hospitals just in one geographic area have closed because of this, and this same scenario is happening all over the country, not to mention all the other services that are being provided. Now what about all the people who no longer have a local hospital to go to when they need it?, should they be happy about all of this?, I don't know, you tell me. It's not racism it's just the difference between right and wrong, but unfortunately all to many seem to not be able to tell the difference
Mexico and the Latin American countries have the highest rate of illegal immigration here, and it causes a lot of problems with the economy, crime, and things like that.
It's not because of race, it's because of the huge number of people who cross the border everyday illegally from our southern border and take over entire neighborhoods and drive crime rates way up.
If you come here legally with your documents, people will not have a problem with you. It's only the ones who come here and cause problems that people resent. Unfortunately, it gives Latino's a bad name because of the huge numbers of problems created by illegal immigration.
I sure dont hold any resentment towards Latin Amercans i think some of your women are among the most beautiful in the world.
