There are different degrees of hypnosis. It is light at first when you're just "going under", and then it increases to the next level, and the next, until you are completely under. Deep hypnosis is when you have lost all conscious awareness that you have been hypnotized, and are completely under the power of the hypnotist. Light hypnosis is when you are in a "twilight zone", not completely under the spell. The effects on the brain are obvious, and the same goes for relaxation. If you are not relaxed, it will be more difficult to hypnotize you. Some subjects are more easily attuned to the power of suggestion than others.

It is bad to allow our mind to be hypnotized. It is not a kind of relaxation.
One loses mental stamina in this process and the mind becomes weak thereby. We should be self confident with lot of will power.
A competent hypnotherapist can take you into a light level of hypnosis, and then continue taking you further and further down the deeper you go. Hypnotherapy can be very, very relaxing.
