Why don't i like social events, or hanging out in a big group?

i'm 17 and i don't really like hanging out with people, i'm a normal kid
i've wrestled for 6 years now and i'm one of the best wrestlers
most people at school respect me, i'm not a douche-bag or anything i hang-out with friends at school and i'm not that shy
i don't go to football game or partys though and i stay home on weekends, every once in a while 1 of my friends would come over but i don't really go to social events because i don't like attending crowded, noisy places (it makes me sick and not feel like myself)

You simply are more introverted than you are extroverted. It's just a personality trait, there is nothing wrong with you. I am the same way.

I don't like hanging out with people either. I think it's because some of us just aren't as social as others. We are able to find other ways to keep ourselves entertained that don't require being with groups of people or at parties.

i'm a very outgoing person that hates to stay in one place for more than an hour but i don't like big social events either...mainly because they are more of a who's who of whatever group that is in attendance...it seems like you can't just go to a party and kick it...you have to make a show of it. the folks like me get crap cause we do what we want and to hell with what the others think...i also don't like big events because the vast majority of the people that go to them are nothing more that shallow, incompetant swine that care more about wearing the right clothes, driving the right car, owning the right shoes...

the idea of being around people can make you feel like you can't escape, or you wouldn't be able to easily enough. With a lot going on and lots of people, you're not able to be yourself.
