| I have been with my boyfriend for more than six years. We have plans to get married someday and we're even buying a home together. I know he is the one for me. When I first met him, he said he wanted children in the future. All throughout the relationship, he's been on and off about wanting children. One day we would come up with names for our children and another day he would tell me he doesn't want children at all. I am so confused. We almost broke up and I chose to stay because I really do love him.
I do want to have children because I want to share something special with my boyfriend and create someone we can both love together and love us back. But he said that he doesn't want any and I said I would be okay with. I would rather have him in my life and not have children than be alone.
He told me that he doesn't want children because children will just ruin our lives. He sees children as a lifetime responsibility. He feels that he is selfish and does not want to waste his time or money on them. But he keeps changing his mind about the issue regarding having children.
Every time i hear someone talk about children, I can't help but feel betrayed. I feel like I've betrayed myself because it's been in my dreams that i would have children someday.

Are men likely to change their minds about having children in the future? I really love my boyfriend and have no intention of leaving and ending the relationship. But I just feel like this is a lose-lose situation. If I stay, I may never have children. But if I leave, I may lose the love of my life. Any advice?
Sit down and talk about it before getting married. Choose whether you want him or the children.
Well, men like children, of course.
You don't say your age(s), but I'll guess your young(like under 30). A lot of younger guys want to live the fun life. They see kids as the end of there life. That they can never have fun again as they have a kid.
Most men get over this(after all if they did not we would not have families)
