I like them, but I've met, spoken to and heard so many obsessed fans it's quite worrying. Just because they're reasonable musicians and are pretty cute, doesn't put them above other bands

well we love them because they a cute, amazingly talented, and are great guys!!!
I really like their music, and I think that they are much better role models then many other celebrities...also the fact that their entire family stuck together is pretty cool.

I agree. I mean they are just a normal band. I don't think they are any different than any other boyband. I think they are great or cr-p but all their crazy, obsessed fans put me off so I'm Anti-Jonas! :)

i personally dont like them or their music..the fans do worry me too though..some are really obssesed and they say "they will do ANYTHING!! to meet them" =S it all pisses me off when they say they are one of the best bands....have they not listened to the works of the beatles or ac/dc..you know REAL music with amazing lyrics and playing

Why does anyone get obsessed over anything? It has to do with two main things...
The quality.
And the fan base/publicity.
The Jonas Brothers are a good band. They have good music and cute guys. They're relatable, realistic people.
But also, everywhere you turn, they have products. Billboards, music, TV, movies, action figures, clothing, notebooks, etc....
Humans in general like to... 'jump on the bandwagon'. They like bands their friends like, for example.... Since a bunch of people like the JBs, some people feel obligated to like them too.
As for me, I like them because they're amazing people and make amazing music.

Young teenage girls often have a habit of idolizing boy bands. We are, for some reason, fascinated with celebrities, and when they are attractive, it's easy for us to quickly become obsessed. I use the word "we" instead of "they" because face it, we all have drooled over a boy band or boy pop artist at some point in our childhood. There was N'SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Dreamstreet, New Kids on the Block, Aaron Carter, and the list continues.
Disney Channel is one of the most popular TV channels viewed by a preteen girl. The Jonas Brothers are advertised very often on this channel. When someone or something becomes popular, it is easier for us to buy into it.
I am not saying their musical talent has nothing to do with their success. I am a Jonas Brothers fan as well (not a die-hard, crazy one), but I do see how sometimes aspects other than music can influence our opinions on musicians.
I always liked their music and just recently paid attention to who they really were. I think for alot of teens it has to be because they're so cute. I myself like Kevin. I think because of the Internet people are able to find out so much about them and that's what make someone obsess over them. Because so much info is available to them.
