Bettas are always like that. Go into a fish shop, they only move a bit when you scare them and get caught by the owner
Maybe he is dead. Or maybe u should try putting a small air pump and air stone in his tank.

He is an atmospheric fish so he breathes not only from gills but from the top of the tank water too! and if it is the only fish in the tank then it is very likely that it is like this. Mine is like that the whole day best starter fish - Discuss Pets @ PetLovers.Com::

Bettas are top dwellers, they don't eat much either. Look at it's eye, that's how big it's stomach is. They only need like 4 pellets a day. Check the water quality. do you have a heater? They are tropical fish that thrive in temperatures in the low 80's. 125 gallon planted tank question.::

he is either sleeping on his side.if he is poke him with somthing if he moves and swims away he is just sleeping if he swims a little and swim back up he is dying. Im sorry but if it makes you feel better i have a pond in my back yard with 32 fishes one of my fishes has been doing the same thing
They take in oxygen through the air once in awhile.
