I've noticed it fluctuates depending on what time I visit. Perhaps because we are discussing related topics here. I don't see many people talking about Atheism in the pet section of this site.
The majority of theists are poor, old, or have lower IQs in general compared to atheists. Most atheists have relatively high IQs, are in the middle or upper class, and not necessarily so old. All these things given, the internet's wider audience are atheists for the most part

It's a vice versa kind of thing. They get to spread their Christianity through government, we get to spread the TRUTH about life.
Because in the world people do not have the guts to admit they're atheists. Look at how we're looked down upon. We can't even get elected to public office.
On the Internet, people feel they can say whatever they want with no consequences.
Believe it or not, I've given a thumbs down to atheists and a thumbs up to theists on the R and S section from time to time and it's based solely on their answer and not on my biased beliefs.
I'm here to be one example for theists so that they can see that I'm not out to get them to change their beliefs, but to see my point of view so that they become less assumptive and more understanding of people in the real world and not the cyber world.
I think the percentage of believers is grossly exaggerated. Many people lie to the polls. Yes, I agree that it is disproportionately high here, but probably not reflective of how many people really do believe in God.
You may know a lot more atheists in real life than you presume. It's just that most atheists don't engage themselves in religious discussion in real life. You'll probably never have an atheist come up to you in the street to tell you the good news of atheism. This is an appropriate forum to talk about atheism and religion. Well considering I don't know even two Christians, I think there are a lot more Christians on here than there are in real life around here (I live in Australia).
1 in every 6 persons on the planet is an atheist. I don't know, it seems pretty accurate when you look at this section of Yahoo!Answers.
There would be more believers here but they tend to blow up their computers with all of their spelling mistakes.

Theists here don't come out for real questions for fear of incriminating themselves- they just ask questions and only answer when they think they can convert someone.
Ask a question like: 'I'm Christian, but I'm confused... please help'
and you'll realise how many of them there really are.
