That is a very good question. They claim themselves they are not a religion.of any sort,They believe in a way of thinking! This is Religion and Spirituality. I don't see where they fit in this category whatsoever. But the christians will get deleted off when they stick up for themselves.
Spiritual belief in a god is not a prerequisite for an intellectual interest in religion. (16th time I've had to say that.)

Yahoo Answers set up a category called Religion and Spirituality. They did not set up a section for Atheism, Agnosticism and non-Theism.

One does not need to have a religion to discuss it or to be interested in it. Besides, most of us use to be very religious, and we know a lot. We have as much of a right to be here as anyone else.

See? Look what happens when I simply switch around a few words in your question. My version is just as legitimate: If this is a religious category and atheists don't belong here, then Afghanistan is a muslim country and non-muslims don't belong there. But guess what? Non-muslims are there anyway. And why are they there? They're there to try to eliminate the muslim extremists and terrorists who threaten the rest of civilization. And we atheists are here to try to eliminate the religious delusions and superstitions that threaten the rest of civilization. What's wrong with that?

There are a great many questions asked of atheists on this forum (like this one). I'm here to answer them and hopefully enhance understanding.
Also, I agree we don't have religion but spirituality is a fairly mercurial term. I would say it is possible to be a spiritual atheist. Take Carl Sagan for example. He was an atheist and I would call him spiritual.
