well get rid of the poison.... and keep an eye on her. If anything out of the norm for her starts take her to vet immediately.
You didn't take the dog to a vet because? Take some of the product and the dog to a vet.
If she starts to act sick take her to the vet. Give her milk. Make sure she drinks plenty of water. If you're lucky, it will pass thru her without any harm.
oh you poor thing. i know how you feel
my moms dog did the same thing about a year ago and hes fine but you really should take her to the vet just in case. no point in taking the risk.
If it happened yesterday and your dog seems to be all right, either 1) it wasn't rat poison or it was and 2) your dog didn't get enough to harm him. Either way, you are a very irresponsible dog owner and need to get yourself educated. If you really cared, you would have had that dog in to the vet YESTERDAY! She could....why didn't you take her to the vet
She could you need to get her to a vet just to b on the safe side
Now all you can do is take the dog to the vet/animal hospital to be sure.
For the future and for all readers, If you think your dog may have swallowed something harmful recently you can induce vommiting very easily.
Give a small dog only about a capful of hydrogen peroxide. Use the cap of a regular sized bottle of hydrogen peroxide--about a teaspoon full. Administer more--around 2 tablespoons--to a larger dog.
Wait patiently until your dog vomits. Know that it occurs soon after you give it hydrogen peroxide, but it can take up to five minutes. Look for foreign objects in the vomit and make sure your dog has expelled the dangerous items it swallowed. Repeat the procedure if nothing substantial comes up. Realize there may be nothing obvious to see if you are trying to help your dog eliminate a poison.
Remember this only is useful if the dog has recently ingested the poison/object
If your dog ate rat poison she would already have showed affects of eating it. That doesn't mean she did not eat eat but not enough to show signs of it. If I were you I would take her to a vet immediately just to take precaution!!!! Symptoms associated with a dog that eats rat poison include:
- bruises
- nosebleeds
- sore joints
- bloody vomit
- blood in the feces
She could be suffering internally.
