Hi
Just a note to those who are interested.
I've just tried Win2003 SP1 RC1 (get it here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AE20C29D-5C71-49CE-9091-3AEDC9E5979F)) with Outpost in a test environment (VirtualPC rocks by the way ;) ).
Observation #0:
New and "improved" windows firewall. That was the first thing I kicked out of the system before installing anything else :D
Observation #1:
Outpost cannot identify any application at all, everything is identified as SYSTEM (except netbios, but I think it's ID-d by port rather than process)
Observation #2:
#1 is probably linked with my former problem (details here (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11980) in my last post), because deadlocking with F-Secure seems to be solved.
Note: the app misindentification is present even if absolutely nothing else is installed (the OS is freshly installed).
Note: the above mentioned problem and my former problem does not exist on Windows XP (with or without SP2) and the same F-SAV Server software (yes, it can be installed on XP too).
If you want to check, a free (but fully functional) 30-day trial of F-SAV Server can be found here (http://www.europe.f-secure.com/download-purchase/anti-virus/download/fsav550srv-tbyb.exe) (or find it by yourself amongst the downloadable evaluation versions), Outpost version was 2.5.370, and you can obtain SP1RC1 from the link above. computer and small business and wireless Resources | TechRepublic:: computer (4 results), New Horizons Computer Learning Centers (4 encryption, hacker, incompatibility, computer, graphics, laptop Win 2003 Small http://search.techrepublic.com.com/search/computer+and+small+business+and+wireless.htmlHOME | Tutorials-Win.com >> 64bit Windows >> Ghosting Drives - Microsoft :: Printer Manager and 32bit drivers I am new to Win 2003 server. I don't know if there will be any significant changes from RC1 to final, but since the problematic software is outpost again, and in conjunction with a previous problem (actually, that's the main reason I even started this thread), I think the developers should check it out in the following beta (somebody close to the fire, could you help me out there? :D ).
I hope one of the new features in the upcoming version will be "Improved Windows 2003 compatibility" :)
Just to let you know...
Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 has been released. Is Outpost Firewall Pro v2.6.452.403 supported on Windows Server 2003 with SP1?
Hello Gregorius,
Please file a bug report with 1 and let their developers know what problems you have found. Give them all of the information you have and reference any threads you have opened.
As far as I know they rarely read the forums unless directed here by a bug report. This forum is ran and supported by users and not Agnitum.
Yep, seems fine to me. I'm using 451/402, but 452/403 was only a minor bugfix, if I'm not mistaken.
