MySpace.com - Wow I Really Am Excited Top Notch Thrill Ride For :: MySpace profile for Wow I Really Am Excited Top Notch Thrill Ride For with pictures, videos, i am looking them all up to find a song for my profile. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=19609293HOME | I am a very big fan of Jelsoft/vBulletin, but just today I decided to check out the Invision website (it was some time ago) to see what their product would offer in terms of embedding external content (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1545595#post1545595).
To my surprise I saw that their old Blog style was gone (which was really horrible in my view, worse then vBulletin's current one) and that they had introduced a complete new 'light' style for their Blogs:
Check ik out here (http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/ips_news/index.php?). Or here (http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/clubugly/index.php?showentry=2273). Or the overview of all their blogs overhere (http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?autocom=blog).
To be honest, I think it's fantastic. Compare this great new Invision Blog style to the current vBulletin overhere (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blog.php?b=35) for example and well...I think it's obvious who is the preferred one from a readers/readability (read: our members/customers/potential customers) point of view.
Invision has produced a quality style which is really exactly the thing I want to offer on my site. Straight out of the box you get a fantastic readable light style, whereas with vBulletin we are stuck with the dated blocky style. And they even offer Themes it appears! (see overhere (http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/rikki/index.php))
Sometimes I feel Invision has become the new Jelsoft. In terms of innovating/development that is. Hopefully we do not have to wait for vB 4.0 to come out (which can take up years...) for all this to become available in vBulletin's Blog.
I am sorry to be soo critical (I really love my vBulletin), but I would love to see my favorite community-software back on top of the game again.
... has now been implemented by Invision also. Look at the comments overhere (http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/ips_news/index.php?showentry=2226) and you will notice that the comments made by the author of the Blog get a different backgroundcolour... great!
This is -again- something that improves the readability of the blog, in this case the comments. Exactly what I was looking for.
My favorite iPhone site in The Netherlands uses this great Wordpress theme and this offers the same thing that the reply of the Blog-author gets a different background-colour. See here (http://www.iphoneclub.nl/6220/i-close-afdekdopje-voor-de-iphone-headsetaansluiting/). Immediately you can see which replies are from the author, well the benefits are obvious.
Please, please improve the vB Blog style (overall) and include this little but very userfriendly improvement.
Oh, and what I said almost 1 year ago overhere (in green): World of Warcraft (en) Forums -> Looking for enGB Full WoW Client:: 9 posts - Last post: Dec 6, 2006I'm looking for the HTTP download Version of the Full enGB WoW Client. There a millions of good style-examples over the internet, but I will just pick one randomly:
Look at this page (http://mezzoblue.com/archives/2007/07/11/icon_design/) and scroll down to the reader comments. What I like about this one is that they use an alternate background colour for the following comment. This improves the readability of the comments. What I also like is that comments made by the author of the blog get's a different backgroundcolour compared to all the other users.
So... compare a custom style (http://mezzoblue.com/archives/2007/07/11/icon_design/) to vBulletins non-changeable default style (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blog.php?b=9) and you realize what a huge difference in the look and feel and readability a custom style can make.

Please, please follow this and improve vBulletin blog on this matter! In my view a better readable vB Blog style is badly needed. Invision in really ahead in this area now (at least for the Blog).
Yeah I totally agree. I also like how they use images for bookmarks instead of having a whole table for it that takes up a lot more space and doesn't look nice at all.
IPB has done some real nice stuff. Frankly, I'm not sure why Vbulletin released blog with so many clear shortcommings. I wouldn't be suprised if Vbulletin blog continues to get neglected untill 4.0 and we see a major shift in the way the software is coded.
Sadly, I agree. IPB blog looks better than vbulletin's. :(
There is one thing certain that vB Blog shall not wait for vB 4.0 . vB 4.0 is ahead at least 18 months away with the fastest development time.

Yes, they (IPB) have. The Jelsoft one has shortcomings because it's their first version really. But I have some problems understanding why Jelsoft released their Blog so late... hopefully with vB 4.0 vBulletin will be on top of things again, instead of following the path of others. One of the most essential things that I do not like on the current vB Blog is the style. The offered style does not improve the Blog product. The new IPB one clearly does. Really, the visual presentation of things is sooooo important : I sometimes have the feeling Jelsoft thinks different about this aspect (although the default style -apart from the buttons and smilies/icons- of the vB Forum itself is really great).
FYI -- Some of this is under discussion already over here:
