i apologize if this is a known topic. i looked on the forums for x: and for y: and z: and found nothing.

xbmc tells me on the info section that i have an x:, y: and z: drives, all with about 749 mb of space (perhaps they all correspond to the same space in the hard drive?). but i don't see them on the file manager nor on the ftp. i only have 4.7 gb of space occupied on the hard drive but only 200 mb left on the e: drive and i'd like to know if it is somehow possible to "recover" the remaining space (up to the 8 gb on the xbox hd minus the space used by the xbox itself) for my use or if it is blocked for use by the xbox when it runs games.

cache partitions don't list, but they are available. try inputting path manually:

/y/
/z/

reasons we done it so bloody hard is to not easily allow newbies to put stuff there that they eventually (100%) would lose!

it seems that i really need to start thinking about upgrading to a bigger hard drive! :)

i have the advantage of doing it through my modchip bios ;) although some other dashboards like evox have been known to have a command available to format the cache drives.

how do we access those cache drives though? in order to clear them if we have an issue...

currently xbmc has "limited" memory card support... for some reason it always puts data into a 0face008 folder.
